Astrotheology explores the role that the stars, sun, moon, and other heavenly bodies have played in the formation of various religious systems, which often have an esoteric aspect. Lucifer means "light bringer" in Latin and was the name of the planet Venus in its morning aspect, usually personified as a male figure bearing a torch as the evening star.
