Stellar Alignments of the Ancient American Mound Builders - Dr. Greg Little - Origins Conference

Dr. Greg Little explores the stellar alignments at mound complex sites in North America. Until the early 2000s American archaeologists had made only a few tenuous conclusions about the significance of possible astronomical alignments at ancient mound complexes. However, with the acceptance of the Path of Souls belief system dominating ancient Native American spirituality, for the first time archaeology was able to pinpoint the time frame and important stars involved in death rituals. Most mound sites in America incorporate alignments to the Winter Solstice, Orion's Nebula, and the constellation of Cygnus. Introduced by Andrew Collins.
